Matted coats can cause significant discomfort, skin irritation, and underlying health issues. In cases of severe matting, the safest and most humane option is often to shave the coat short to remove the matting completely.
De-matting can be painful and may cause unnecessary stress, therefore we do not carry out extensive de-matting procedures.
By booking an appointment, you acknowledge that:
- Severely matted dogs may need to be clipped very short
- The final result may not be the style originally requested
- Shaving a matted coat can reveal pre-existing skin conditions, irritation, or sores
- Additional charges will apply for matted coats due to extra time required and potential damage to equipment
If your dog is found to be severely matted, we will discuss the best and most humane option with you before proceeding.
